The Overwatch League has gained its second Los Angeles franchise with the announcement which the LA Gladiators will be joining the league. The announcement came with a press release on Thursday afternoon, combined with Blizzard's short teaser showing off the logo and a historical appearance at the group's uniform.
The team is owned by Kroenke Sports and Entertainment who also own and run the Los Angeles Rams NFL team as well as several other professional sports teams throughout the world. The team's colors, modeled in their own official announcement art by Reinhardt, are white and purple using the emblem a lion emblazoned on a battle-scared shield. LA Gladiators will make their official roster statement soon, according to the press release. The LA Gladiators will likely be joined from the league's first season by 12 other teams representing many different cities across the world. The Overwatch League will start preseason play on December 6, with the regular period starting on January 10, in Burbank California in Blizzard Arena.

Blizzard declared after the next map of the South Korea vs United States show that it would be the final of the evening of this first day, with the semifinal matches originally program for this night, being transferred to tomorrow. This article's schedule has been updated to reflect that.
The day has come, since the best eight teams have been set to square off against one another in the 2017 Overwatch World Cup. Just following this year's BlizzCon gets underway, the finest national teams in the world will compete for the title of World Champion. The tournament's first day in BlizzCon will comprise the quarterfinals and semifinals as the top eight teams have been cut down to only four, to ascertain who will perform in tomorrow's Finals and third place game. The marquee match up of day one will occur during the quarterfinals once the tournament favorites, will continue the home team, as South Korea face off against the United States. This will be the first chance that fans will get to see each of the newest Overwatch spectator changes that Blizzard has made to the game during the past several months, including team uniforms, specially colored visual results and improved camera moves. Hey, do not forget that time we saw a picture of a bad small Bastion trying to make its way in a world it didnt quite understand? Sure, there were several intercut scenes of warfare and destruction, but The Last Bastionmade Bastions look benign and adorable.
We get to see the other side of the battle in Honor and Glory, the most recent Overwatch cinematic. Brigitte and Reinhardt discuss Winston's Recall, the initiative which restarts Overwatch and calls each old agent back in the fold to begin operations anew (and illegally). Reinhardt believes back into the defining conflict of his own life, where the Crusaders held Eichenwalde from the Omnic progress. We eventually get to see the actual horror succeeded at in The Last Bastion, and we get to see the armor we've been fighting at Eichenwalde contains the corpse of Reinhardt's old commander. Honor and Glory is just one of the strangest cinematics however, though it finishes with Reinhardt's decision to rejoin Overwatch. We also finally get confirmation that Reinhardt wasn't lying: his hair wasamazing. There was a span of maybe ten seconds where I thought, in some portion of my withered heart, that Jeff Kaplan wasn't teasing Overwatchcontent but instead unveiling an absolutely wild small business program.
The sweeping gates of BlizzardWorld, the Blizzard theme park, together with the core concept intrigued me. I mean, if there is a Harry Potter theme park on the market, what is stopping the entire world from adopting a Blizzard themed version? Harry Potter doesn't save Aiur from an infinite wave of Zerg. He doesn't deserve the accolade. At no time in the seven book series failed Ron Weasley drink the blood Mannoroth, only to slay the demon and recover his honor in front of his best friend Thrall. Alright, fine, so it is most likely not going to happen. In the mean time, though, we could see BlizzardWorld as Overwatch's newest hybrid . This attack/escort map occurs at a theme park chock full of references to Blizzard's additional possessions. Before I watched an Overwatch cinematic, I climbed up on Warcraftand Starcraft. I played with the original Warcraft games as a child, and Starcraft was the very first game I played . I awakened over a million wins as Undead at Warcraft 3 to score that sweet, sweet Sylvanas icon. Obviously, BlizzardWorld is a delightful map for lovers like me. Greatest map for every Overwatch Boost company. That being said, there's a wealth of easter eggs for Overwatch fans too. (There's a scoreboard with different Overwatch personalities rated. D.Va is number two with a very respectable score, and Sombra is number one with an impossibly high score.) The map can be chaotic and fun, with gryphon themed teacups pushing players high ledges round and probes turning throughout the skies. BlizzardWorld is part of Overwatch's utopia, and despite being an arsenal of easter eggs, it manages to feel like part of the world. I am not a hundred percent convinced why these heroes are fighting it out over giant pretzels and augmented reality channels that transport you for Aiur, but I'm glad to be along for the ride. Moira, the new support healer, has an extremely dark backstory backing up her. Moira is a scientist, however unlike Mei and Winston, she is about progress at any price tag.
Michael Chu insisted that Moira's not interested in beating the Earth, despite her Talon affiliation--she simply wants to understand the principles of human life, and she does not particularly care about the quality of life of her topics. We saw a glimpse of a Blackwatch Valkyrie-suited Moira experimenting on Reyes in a means which might have hastened his shift to Reaper, and now she sits in Talon's table. Overwatch might have held Moira back, however, Blackwatch welcomed her into the fold. Blizzard made her with the goal of producing an ethically questionable healer to round out the angel, monk, DJ, and mother on the support cast. Her first concept even rocked enormous, red tentacles (although they couldn't figure out how to make that function in sport ). While there is still plenty of mystery left to Moira, this brand new animation gives us a fantastic look as to how much she is ready to go in the pursuit of mathematics. |
